Workshop for Mediators

Instructors: Dr. Rick Voyles and Lesly Fredman

Three Training Sessions to Choose From (pick one): November 19th, December 2nd, December 19th, 2013

Course Description

Just as a musician needs to train his/her ear, mediators also need to train their hearing, as well as strengthen their awareness of what is going on around them, at the same time keeping their mind open and not blocking creative processes. This workshop will look at several improvisational techniques that can improve your skill as a mediator. These techniques will be both very challenging and a lot of fun. We will look at the processes of mediation and improvisation to discover what successful improvers do that will also work at the mediation table.

Presenters: Dr. Voyles has 20 years professional mediation experience, including EEO, Federal workplace, juvenile, magistrate court, landlord tenant, domestic and domestic violence, roommate disputes, neighborhood disputes, as well as church conflicts. He is a mediator coach, mentor, and trainer and has been studying and performing improv since 2010. He is a published author and a highly sought after speaker and coach across the United States.

Lesly Fredman is a Creativity Coach (www.leslyfredman.com); Managing and Artistic Director of Theatre on the Prowl, with over 30 years experience teaching improvisation, performing, and directing numerous theatrical productions.
